AfroFusionPlate Academy Terms & Participant Conditions

Terms for practical cooking, confidence and independent-living skills sessions.

Version 1.1 | Effective 31 August 2026

1. Nature of Academy sessions

AfroFusionPlate Academy provides practical, hands-on cooking and everyday-life skills activities in a supportive environment. Sessions may be tailored to different abilities, learning styles, sensory needs and goals. Academy activities are educational and skills-based; they do not replace medical, dietetic, occupational therapy or other professional advice unless a qualified professional is specifically engaged for that purpose.

2. Bookings and eligibility

Bookings are subject to availability, participant suitability and any information reasonably required to provide a safe session. For NDIS participants, additional service-agreement, plan or funding requirements may apply.

3. Participants under 18

A participant under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian make or authorise the booking. We may require a parent/guardian to provide emergency, allergy, medical, behavioural, supervision or pickup information relevant to safety. The required level of guardian presence or supervision may depend on age, ability, activity and venue.

4. Health, allergy and support information

Participants or their representatives must disclose relevant allergies, food intolerances, mobility or support needs, sensory requirements and other information reasonably necessary for safe participation. We will handle this information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

5. Conduct and safety

Participants must follow reasonable safety instructions relating to knives, heat, appliances, hygiene and food handling. We may modify or stop an activity where necessary to protect a participant or others.

6. Cancellations

Booking-specific cancellation or NDIS service-agreement terms may apply. If no specific terms are stated, please give as much notice as reasonably possible. Where costs have already been reasonably incurred, we may apply lawful cancellation charges or NDIS cancellation rules where applicable and properly disclosed.

7. Photos and promotional use

We will not use an identifiable participant’s image or testimonial for marketing merely because they attended a session. Separate permission should be obtained where an identifiable image, story or testimonial is used publicly, with parent/guardian consent where required.
